01The firm
Small by design. Every matter is run by the counsel who took it on.
Arth Legis & Co. is a full-service law firm based in Jaipur, working in commercial and civil litigation, arbitration, regulatory practice, intellectual property and corporate advisory.
Where a matter sits outside Jaipur we work with associate counsel in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and remain responsible for the conduct of the brief throughout.
02How the firm is built
Three things hold every matter up.
- IFoundation
Conflicts before merits
Parties are checked against our existing and past matters before anything substantive is discussed.
- IIShaft
One counsel, end to end
The counsel who takes the first call drafts the pleading and argues the matter. Nothing is passed down a chain.
- IIICapital
Terms in writing
Scope, the responsible counsel and the fee basis are agreed in an engagement letter before work begins.
03Practice
Six areas of work, run from one desk.
04How we work
Every engagement runs through the same five stages.
- Stage 1
First contact
A short description of the matter and the documents you already hold. No charge, and no obligation on either side.
- Stage 2
Conflict check
We check the parties before discussing anything substantive. If there is a conflict we say so at once and stop.
- Stage 3
Engagement letter
Scope, counsel, fee basis and billing cycle are recorded and signed. No advocate–client relationship exists until then.
- Stage 4
Conduct of the matter
Drafts are settled with you before filing, and each effective hearing is reported — not just the next date.
- Stage 5
Closure and papers
Original documents returned, a complete set of the proceedings handed over, and surviving limitation dates recorded.
05Insights
Notes from matters we have worked through.
General commentary on procedure and regulation — not advice on any particular set of facts.
Counting the ninety days: limitation under Section 34
When the clock starts on a challenge to an arbitral award, and why the date on the covering letter is rarely the date that matters.
Read the noteWhat the agreement for sale must contain under RERA
A working checklist of the terms a promoter cannot contract out of, and the consequences of an agreement that omits them.
Read the noteReading a title report for what it does not say
Missing links in a chain of title are ordinary. Deciding which of them are fatal to a transaction is the whole exercise.

Contact
Write first. It costs nothing and saves time.
A short description of the matter, the forum, the parties and the stage it has reached is enough for us to tell you whether we are able to act — and if we are not, we will say so.
